Shelly is a hybrid between Tomy Atkins and Kent mango variety that originated in Israel. The mango is adequately sweet (TSS: up to 19 brix), having an average weight of 450 grams, and is aromatic. The aroma works as an x-factor for this mango. It is harvested during late-season, July-August in West Bengal (India) and in Florida (USA), August-September in North India. The trees are semi-dwarf with open canopies. It is best suited for table purpose. Some enjoy its slices in fruit salads. It can be adopted for commercial farming (commercial farming done in Israel, Spain and parts of Egypt), kitchen and roof-top gardening. Its regular and heavy bearing capacity alongwith its radiant colour profile and long shelf life makes it a commercial cultivar.
