Shelly is a hybrid between Tomy Atkins and Kent mango variety that originated in Israel. The mango is adequately sweet (TSS: up to 19 brix), having an average weight of 450 grams, and is mildly aromatic. Its unique tropical flavour works as an x-factor for this mango. It is harvested during late-season, July-August in West Bengal (India) and Florida (USA), August-September in North India. The trees are semi-dwarf with open canopies. It is best suited for table purpose. Some enjoy its slices in fruit salads. It can be adopted for commercial farming (commercial farming done in Israel, Spain and parts of Egypt), kitchen and roof-top gardening.
