Kent is a cross hybrid between Brooks and Haden in Florida, USA. The mangoes are mildly aromatic and sweet (TSS: up to 19 brix). It has an average weight of 450-600 grams. It is harvested during late-season - in August in West Bengal, India, September in the northern parts of India, and in Florida, USA. The trees are semi-dwarf with open canopies. Kent mangoes are best suited for table consumption. It can also be diced for making fruit salads. Kent is one of the most successful commercial mango cultivars in the world due to its later ripening and long shelf life. It is commercially farmed in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Kenya etc. Kent saplings are suitable to plant in commercial mango farms / terrace gardens / kitchen gardens and rooftop gardens.ย
