Keitt originated from a chance seedling of Brooks mango variety in Florida, USA. With a good aromatic profile, Keitt tastes very sweet (TSS up to 22 brix) provided it is consumed at least 8-10 days after harvest. Its average weight is 400-600 grams. It is harvested during the late season - September in West Bengal, India, October in Florida, USA. It bears regularly and heavily. Keitt trees are semi-dwarf with open canopies. It is best suited for table consumption. It has a thick peel and a very high shelf life of 16-21 days. It is one of the best commercially successful mango cultivars in the world - extensively farmed in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Egypt, Australia, China, South Africa, and Kenya. Keitt is highly recommended for commercial farming. It is equally useful for small orchards/farms/terrace gardens / Rooftop Gardens / Kitchen Garden.
