Carrie, originated in Florida, USA is a seedling of Sophie Frey (Sophie Frey came from a seedling of Julie) mango variety. Belonging to the Indian Alphonso flavour profile, Carrie has earned a big name among mango lovers and enthusiasts, especially the Indian community in Florida. With an enchanting spicy-tropical aroma, Carrie tastes pleasingly sweet (TSS up to 26 brix). Its average weight is 250-400 grams. Carrie is harvested during early-mid season variety - May-end in West Bengal, June in Florida, USA, and June-end in the northern parts of India. The trees exhibit semi-dwarf growth with dense canopies. Carrie is best suited for table purpose. Carrie has very thin peel and has less shelf life which prohibits Carrie from becoming an export-worthy mango variety. However, its heavenly taste profile makes it a crazy collection for mango lovers and enthusiasts for kitchen gardens and rooftop gardens.ย
