Arka Udaya is a promising late-season hybrid developed at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, Karnataka. Arka Udaya was bred by crossing Amrapali × Arka Anmol, combining Amrapali's rich pulp quality with Arka Anmol's attractive skin, and identified as hybrid H-12 by the Institute's Varietal Identification Committee. It is recommended for cultivation across all mango-growing states of India. Arka Udaya has been recommended for all mango-growing states in India. (Arka Anmol was derived from Alphonso x Janardhan Pasand.) A team of scientists of including Dr. M. Sankaran was behind the creation of this amazing cultivar.

The fruit is medium-sized and oblong, averaging 200–250 g, borne characteristically in bunches/clusters rather than singly. The peel carries a pink blush reminiscent of Arka Anmol, over a base skin colour; the pulp is firm, deep orange-yellow and fiberless, with a high TSS of 24°Brix and pulp recovery exceeding 70%. Flavour-wise it is outstanding - nothing sort of a flavour bomb. It is notably nutritious, with total carotenoid content of 13.55 mg/100 g. Keeping quality is excellent, 12–15 days, making it well suited to distant markets and export. It is mainly a table variety.

The seed is monoembryonic and small in size leading to high pulp recovery.

The tree has a semi-vigorous, bunch-bearing growth habit and is a late-season variety, ripening after most standard cultivars have finished (ripens in the last week of July/first week of August in West Bengal). Grown at a standard spacing of 5 m × 5 m, it delivers a strong commercial yield of 18–20 t/ha.

So far, Arka Udaya has been dwarf at Amrakunja Nursery, and its production has been very high. The taste and flavour have been outstanding.

Apart from commercial farms, Arka Udaya is suitable for plantation at terrace garden, kitchen garden, rooftop garden etc.
