Arka Suprabhath (also known as H-14 during its development stage) is a high-yielding double-cross hybrid developed at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, Karnataka. Arka Suprabhath was bred by crossing Amrapali (Dashehari × Neelum) × Arka Anmol (Alphonso × Janardhan Pasand), bringing together four classic Indian parent cultivars in its ancestry. A group of IIHR Scientists including Dr. M. Sankaran created this cultivar.

The fruit shape, taste and flavour profile closely resemble Alphonso, with average weight ranging 250–350 grams. The pulp takes after Amrapali — deep orange, firm, and with excellent pulp recovery of over 70%. It carries a TSS above 22°Brix, low acidity (0.12%), and good levels of carotenoids and flavonoids, giving it both flavour and nutritional value. Shelf life is a useful 8–10 days at room temperature, which makes it ideal for export as well as domestic market.

Arka Suprabhath is a late-season variety which ripens in the third and fourth week of July in West Bengal, India.

The seeds are monoembryonic and relatively smaller in size, resulting into high pulp recovery.

The tree is medium-vigorous, with a regular, bunch-bearing habit and notably high productivity — yielding 35–40 kg per plant as early as four years after planting.

At Amrakunja Nursery & Farms, it has been observed that Arka Suprabhath has been regular, high bearing, and is excellent in terms aroma, taste and flavour profile.

Arka Suprabhath is highly recommended for commercial farming. As it can be an ideal alternative to Alphonso. Contrary to the negative characteristics of Alphonso, Arka Suprabhath is a regular and heavy bearing cultivar, devoid of any spongy tissue problem, while resembling the aroma, taste and flavour of Alphonso. Mango farmers can achieve much higher profit margins by adopting Arka Suprabhath, leveraging the well-established global and domestic demand for the Alphonso variety. Besides being a table-purpose variety, Arka Suprabhath can be processed for pulp and juice by food & beverage industries.

Besides, commercial farms, the excellent taste and flavour profile of Arka Suprabhath can be enjoyed through planting the it in Kitchen Garden, Terrace Garden, Rooftop Garden etc.
