It came out of the same pioneering programme that produced Prabha Shankar, recorded by ICAR as the first mango hybrid released in India, from Sabour in 1951.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe fruit is medium-sized at \u003cstrong\u003e250 grams\u003c\/strong\u003e, and is distinguished above all by its texture. In a study of twenty mango genotypes of the Bihar plains, Mahmood Bahar recorded the \u003cstrong\u003ehighest firmness of any genotype tested there\u003c\/strong\u003e — a trait that underpins its strong keeping quality. The pulp is rich and sweet, registering \u003cstrong\u003e20–24 °Brix\u003c\/strong\u003e, with carotenoids and sugars rising markedly as the fruit matures. The stone is monoembryonic. The harvest runs from \u003cstrong\u003eMay into the third week of June\u003c\/strong\u003e. It stays green even after ripening.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe tree is \u003cstrong\u003esemi-vigorous\u003c\/strong\u003e, with  moderate yields.
