Its average weight is 400-700 grams. It is harvested during mid-season - June in West Bengal (India) and Florida (USA), July in North India. The trees are dwarf with open canopies. Alampur Benisan is slightly different from Himayat. However, in Florida, Himayat is wrongly called as Alampur Benisan (the so called Alampur Benisan in Florida, USA is actually Himayat; not Alampur Benisan). Himayat mangoes are best suited for table consumption. Though, Hiamayat has poor shelf life of only 3-4 days, it is commercially farmed to meet its increasing demand owing to its heavenly taste profile.
